December Birchbox 2012 Unboxing
I got my Birchbox last Tuesday, filmed this video the next day (at the beau's place), and I planned on uploading this video on Friday. Didn't quite work out that way though. My schedule has been a little crazy with jewelry orders, outings, and I had to vend at an event last Tuesday. So today was the first day that I really had time to post. So, finally, here's my December Birchbox.

November 2012 Naturebox Unboxing
Last month I was contacted by Naturebox (a monthly subscription box that offers full size healthy snacks for $19.95/mo) and they asked if I'd be interested in reviewing their box. Of course I said yes! I am a big snacker and I try to keep most of my pretty healthy. Plus, I'm always looking for new snacks to try so I was really excited to get the opportunity to try Naturebox. I got the box about a week later and couldn't wait to open it!
Check the video to see exactly what I got!
from l to r:
Country Ranch Peas
Carrot Chips
Since the video I have had the chance to sample all of the snacks and I thought they were really good. My favorites were the almonds, granola and the pumpkin seeds. Overall I think this is a great box to try, especially if you love healthy snacks or if you want to start switching out some that junk food. And as I said in the video, you could easily spend $20 on this amount of product at the store so I believe Naturebox is well worth $19.95.
Naturebox is offering a 25% discount on your first month's subscription with the promo code CARROT. This discount applies to the month to month subscription only. If you buy the 6 month option you'll get one month free. And the 12 month option gets you 3 free months.
Let me know if you give it a try.
Here some information about Naturebox:

A few things got mixed around as I took pics so you might see items here
that that are not in the vid. What I've already sampled is:
Wild Rose Aromatherapy Balancing mosturizing - I enjoyed this
essential oil blend
RW Garcia Dippers - these are basically tortilla chips that are made to
dip. I liked them a lot. I don't think I would use them for dipping since they're
so flavorful.
Clandestino Banana Bar - I tasted and of course I did not like it. Like
I said in the video, I like my bananas straight up. Not mixed with anything
Geodeo deodorant - I've use this before and like it.

Conscious Box via Pure Citizen (unboxing #1)
A couple weeks ago I posted about a deal which was 3 Conscious Boxes for $29.95 via Pure Citizen. I purchased that deal and got my 3 Conscious Boxes about a week later. I was really pleased with my boxes and made videos of me opening all three. I decided to split the videos up because there were quite a few items in each box. And I didn't want to have my videos go over ten minutes. So here is the video of what was in the first box. And I will link the other videos/posts so that you can see them all. Cool Deal: 3 Conscious Boxes for $29.95 via Pure Citizen
Hi all! I wanted to share a very cool deal which comes via Pure Citizen (a site that offers deals from companies that do good). The deal is for 3 Conscious Boxes at only half the price-$29.95. And if you haven't heard of Conscious Box, it's a monthly subscription service that offers 10-12 products that are vegan, fair trade, certified organic, cruelty free, and more. Although Conscious Box is a monthly subscription, this deal is not for that service but for 3 boxes that will arrive all at once-no subscription necessary. All for $29.95! And please note that the monthly subscription sells for $19.95/month ($12 + $7.95 shipping). So this is a deal that I cannot pass up. And when I get my boxes, I'll definitely share what I got with you.
This deal ends on 10/21. You must buy your voucher and use it before midnite 10/21.
Check out the deal HERE

Throwback Thursday! Natural Hair (Repost)
Hi all! This is a repost and not much has changed since I first posted.
It's been forever since I made any posts about my natural hair. In fact, I haven't posted anything since I told you all that I went natural. And that was over 2 years ago. I have only shared some of the hair products that I like and the natural hair events that attended. Why haven't I shared anything in all this time? Well, I'm not a big fan of taking photos. And when I do take them, they always look awkward to me. So that pretty much keeps me from posting pictures of myself and progress of my hair. I do, however, have a few photos that I don't hate. So I will post them below with the approximate date.
Also, I don't have a rock solid regimen. I cleanse every 7-10 days (or as needed) and deep condition each time. Sometimes I pre-condition, henna, and try other treatments. My go to styles are braidouts, twistouts, and I am still perfecting the wash and go. My fave brands at the moment are Pura Body Naturals, Oyin Handmade, and Shea moisture. Though I am always trying new products and have plenty new brands on my to-try list.
On to the photos.

Natural Hair Wishlist: Camille Rose
My natural hair wishlist just keep getting longer and longer because there are so many new/up and coming product lines launching. And I've been eyeing this Camille Rose Naturals line for a few months now. The website says that the products are "handcrafted using raw natural ingredients" which is something I'm always interested in. You can read their story here. I've seen and read some pretty good review for their line. And though all of the items look really good, I'm most interested in the deep conditioners, leave-ins, and butters. Here are the one I plan to try once I come off of my extensive no buy:
Algae Deep Conditioning Mask
Curl Love Moisture Milk
Almond Jai Twisting Butter
Aloe Whipped Butter Gel
Ajani Growth & Shine Balm

Influenster Naturals VoxBox 2012
I received my Influenster Naturals Voxbox 2012 a few days ago and there were a couple of really cool items in it. If you've never heard of Influenster, here is a description (via their website) of what it's all about:
"Community of trendsetters invited to share their lifestyles and show their influence to qualify for personalized product shipments, special rewards and exclusive deals from the brands they love. Members love testing the latest products, giving insightful feedback, and spreading the word on their favorite finds"
The VoxBox is filled with products from various brands. And members of Influenster (called Influensters), are encouraged to share their thoughts about the products on Influenster.com and social networks (twitter, FB, Blogs, Youtube, etc.,). And the more your share, the higher your chances are to receive other VoxBoxes. The boxes are generally themed, so the Naturals VoxBox was all about natural products.
Please note that there is no charge to be Influenster and VoxBoxes are sent, free of charge, to specially selected members.
Here is what I got and I apologize for the bad phone pics but I've got no real camera now :(

from left to right
A dish mat used to air dry dishes. Holds up to 4 times its weight in water.
I did like this deodorant. It held up to its claims for me.
I made the switch from conventional deodorants/antiperspirants to natural some time ago. It took a while to adjust but I've been wearing natural (store-bought and homemade) deodorant since, with no issues. Not sure how this product would perform on those who do use conventional deodorants.
Love it! It's for babies but anyone can use it.
It does seem to really moisturize but I find it slightly thick and waxy. I don't really like to feel my lip balm. I put it on and then end up taking it off. It does have some pretty good ingredients but also has mineral oil and petrolatum which are pretty controversial these days.
Didn't love it or hate it. but it won't be replacing stevia as my no calorie, all natural sweetener.
This is one of those effervescent vitamin powders that you just add to a cup water. I've had this product before - I was not feeling the taste then and I don't care for it now. Maybe the other flavors taste better than orange. I did notice a slight energy boost though.
So convenient to have a couple in your purse when you cant wash your hands. I like them and their earthy smell.
Oh, I noticed that some people got Desert Essence Coconut Shine and Refine Hair Lotion in their boxes. I would have loved to try that.
