New Item! Green Aventurine Multi Strand Bracelet!

I just added this lovely Multi Strand Green Aventurine Bracelet to my shop! It is wire wrapped with silver plated wire and has a base metal silver toggle clasp and spring rings. It's simple  but chunky and is approx. 8 inches long.

Cheap Eats: World Market Classic Soup Mix

I was in World Market a few days ago and I came across some dry soup mixes. They were only $3.99 and the label said one mix served 8 people. I thought that sounded like a great deal so I decided to give it a try. I bought two of the mixes (bistro style lentil, tomato tortellini) and there were several other varieties. 

I tried the tomato tortellini one last night and it was pretty good. The directions were pretty quick and easy.   Add the soup mix (minus the tortellini) to 7 cups of water and an 8oz can of tomato sauce. Bring to a boil then simmer for 15minutes. Then add tortellini and simmer another 15 minutes. I, of course, did a little tweaking and sauteed a little onion and garlic in the soup pot (before adding water and mix). And I added a few more herbs and some frozen kale greens. 


Overall I thought the soup mix was quite good. It's all natural (though not organic) and the ingredients are very simple. It has nice a level of flavor and spice and...um.....it's cheap. So, I will definitely go back to World Market and try some of the other varieties of this mix.

Happy Mango Beads Trash To Treasure Beading Contest!

I entered a beading contest for the first time (in a long time). The contest was put on by Happy Mango Beads and it was called Trash to Treasure. The general rules of the contest was to create an item of jewelry out of something old and/or recycled and recyclable materials. I liked the idea of the contest so I decided to enter and I also thought it would get my creative juices flowin. What I created was pair of earrings made from portions of  Kombucha Wonder Drink cans which were on sale 5 for $5 at Whole Foods. I liked the logo on the can so I decided to cut it out and create around it. Anyway, here are photos of the materials and the earrings! Wishlist: Xingu High Antioxidant Prevention Serum

I got a sample of this a while ago and I finally got around to trying it a few nights ago. It was pretty amazing so I decided to look it up online and see how much it was. I found it on several sites and it was pretty $$$$$-Like $175. I guess it will be on my wishlist for a while because I’m definitely in no position to drop that kind of money on skincare these days. Oh well! 

Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Nectar-My Holy Grail Hair Moisturizer

I have been wearing my kinky/curly, natural hair for about 7 months now and  I have already tried many of the hair care items from brands that are beloved by fellow natural haired ladies. One of those brands is Karen's Body Beautiful and after hearing rave reviews for  the Sweet Ambrosia (formerly Hair Milk) and the Hair Nectar  I decided to give them a try. I liked both of them but the Hair Nectar was/is definitely my favorite. It leaves my hair soft, manageable, and it gives my hair a little bit of curl definition. It is , as of now, my holy grail hair moisturizer. And I say as of now because I am always trying new products (being the product junkie that I am).

Honey Stinger Energy Chews! Yummy!

I bought a couple packs of these energy chews over the weekend and they are quite yummy. They are not too sweet and have great flavor. They're made by a company called Honey Stinger which makes natural honey based energy products such protein bars, energy gels, and of course the chews I have pictured here. And let me say that although they are called chews they remind me more of the gummy-like fruit snacks.  I purchased my snacks  from Whole Foods but you can probably find them at vitamin stores, health food stores, and other places that sell energy products. And of course you can purchase them online at Amazon and other merchants

I Want More Soap!

I have a tumblr that's all about soap. it's called Soapfiending and I usually post pics of soaps that I already have and  love or soaps that I am currently stalking. And though I have dresser drawers full of soap (that I need to take photos of) and plenty of other bars on my wishlist, I would love to see more. Habit Boutique is Closing :-(

I have been selling my jewelry in Habit boutique for the past 5 years or so and  now they are closing.  It was the first (and only) boutique that I've sold my jewelry so it has a special place in my heart. Plus, the owner was always so friendly and she loved my work and let me know it all the time. So sad to see it go. And I have been looking for other stores and boutiques to sell my jewels but haven't quite found any other places yet. Most of them have been saying that they're happy with the designers they have now. Oh well, I'll keep looking and hopefully something comes up. Meanwhile, goodbye Habit and thanks for the support!
